Match by sound. Build with anyone, anywhere.

BANDR is a swipe-based home for musicians who'd rather hear their next collaborator than scroll past one.

— The problem

Bands are stuck in geography.

Music is global. The way we form collaborations isn't. The internet erased distance for the song — the matchmaking never caught up.

01
Local pools, global ambition
A bassist in Boise can record for a producer in Berlin. They'll never meet on Instagram. Talent and proximity got divorced; the apps didn't notice.
02
Sound is judged by photos
Every platform surfaces collaborators by face, followers, and résumé first. The thing you actually need to hear is buried under everything else.
03
Transactional, not chemical
Marketplaces are work-for-hire. Real chemistry — the spark behind every record worth making — has no home online. Until now.
— How it works

Three steps. No résumé required.

01

Upload your sound

Drop in clips, stems, or rough demos. WAV, MP3, voice memos — all welcome. Album art is optional. The waveform is the avatar.

02

Listen & swipe

Discover collaborators by role, genre, key, BPM, or region. Audio auto-plays as you scroll. Like what you hear? Swipe right.

03

Match & make

If they swipe back, you both unlock a private channel. Send files, voice notes, schedule a session. No fees. No royalty take. Ever.

— Inside the app

Audio is the profile picture.

Open the app and you don't see headshots — you see waveforms. Tap to listen. Swipe to decide.

  • Audio-first cards Waveform, role, key, BPM, mood. The only photo is one you choose to add.
  • Mutual match required No cold DMs. Conversations open only when both sides have heard each other and said yes.
  • Built for asynchronous work Timezone-aware. File-share native. Designed for collaborators who'll never share a room.

Lyricists and topliners with the missing piece. Coming in Phase 2.
— The manifesto
We don't want your royalties. We don't want your masters. We don't want your data.

We want one thing: more art in the world. If we make a living helping creators find each other, that's enough. If we get rich, even better — but never at the expense of the people who actually make the music. The platform earns its keep. The art stays yours.

— Common questions

Answers, before you ask.

Is BANDR free?
Yes. The core loop — uploading clips, swiping, matching, messaging — is free and will stay free. BANDR Pro ($9/mo) adds advanced filters, unlimited matches, and the ability to see who liked you. We will never paywall the act of finding a collaborator.
Do you take a cut of music made through the app?
Never. Zero. Songs you make with someone you met on BANDR belong 100% to you and your collaborator, forever. We make money on the platform — not on the art.
What about my audio uploads — are they private?
Yes. Your clips are stored encrypted, served only to people you've matched with or made public to. We don't train models on your audio, we don't sell it, we don't scrape it. Ever.
How do you handle quality and safety?
All audio is auto-scanned for obvious copyright matches before it goes live. Profiles are role-tagged so producers don't get matched as vocalists. Anyone can block or report. We're small now and read every report personally.
Will there be non-music creatives later?
Yes — but only once the music loop is bulletproof. Phase 3 brings writers, visual artists, video editors, and more. Same swipe primitive, different portfolio types.
